If you are looking for a relatively intimate cruise with beautiful rooms and a top notch staff jump aboard the Scarlet Pearl.
There are many options to cruise the bay, we were looking for a smaller cruise group with luxurious rooms and good food and we found it.
Wendy and her staff were warm, friendly, professional and detail oriented. The cruise was run so efficiently yet allowed us to feel relaxed as the bay drew us into a zen state.
There were many activities to keep you as involved as you cared to be or a relaxed and meditative as you wanted. We chose both, kayaking through the caves was as easy or active as you cared to make it and gave freedom to explore on our own. We were offered the most amazing foot massage in the spa, excellent services!! Wait til dark so you don’t miss the views.
The cooking class was more of a learn how to roll a spring roll but they made it fun and delicious.
Squid fishing was tranquil ( I don’t fish but I was drawn to the peaceful state given the surroundings. Then off to karaoke, the best part was watching the adorable, funny and energetic staff dancing along with a contagious enthusiasm.
It’s obvious that the bay and its spectacular beauty are a given but without a pristine yacht and brilliant staff you could be on any boat. Kudos Wendy and crew you are fantastic!

Wow - we had an upgrade to cabin 211 and it was stunning! The bow of the ship was our private terrace and included a jacuzzi and a covered seating area.
Service was great beginning to end - big shout out to Wendy.
Food all of a high standard and plenty of it!
Loved the kayak trip - really magical exploring the area and even going through the caves.

Overrated cruise. Food was not great, couldn’t see the caves as promised, just a round of that place. Only positive staff, was good.

I would like to thank Chris ( Cruise Manager) and Wendy ( Assistant Cruise Manager) and the wonderful staff for their impeccable service and 5 star treatment on The Scarlet Pearl.
Every staff member was friendly, accommodating and strived to achieve exceptional service.
Such a memorable experience and would return again.
The Cruise Liner itself is immaculate and impeccable in design and 5 star features.

This cruise was a highlight of our trip. The room was beautiful, spacious, modern, and clean. View from the room was amazing. Very well organised. Unfortunately there was one family on our trip who were consistently late for group activities and rude to staff however we felt like the lead stewardess dealt with this exceptionally well and politely, minimising the disruption this family caused other passengers as much as possible. We enjoyed the kayaking, swimming, and morning catamaran activities included as part of this tour. A number of people on our boat had birthdays/anniversaries during the trip and the crew went the extra mile arranging birthday cakes and balloons for these passengers. The food was excellent. I am vegetarian and this was well catered for. The boat was gorgeous and the nicest of all those we spotted in the bay. It was a highlight of our trip. We would definitely do this again.

Had a fantastic time in Halong Bai. You will be picked up at the harbor by a small boat and taken to the ship.
The service was excellent and the staff are very friendly and helpful. Go for the 3 days, 2 nights package because 1 night is really too short.
As a Western Asian, I was mainly annoyed by the noisy Chinese and Vietnamese guests. Don't consider other guests and wake everyone up at 6am. But the staff cannot be blamed for that.
The cruise provides a good mix of activities and private swimming time. You can skip the boat trip on the 3rd day and sleep in. The facilities are good, but a renovation is recommended to maintain the feeling of luxury.
I personally liked the Western dinner less, but the Vietnamese lunch on the catamaran (2nd day) was the tastiest.
Are you looking for a good and fun cruise? Then go for the Scarlet Pearl!

I booked the two days one night and I am so grateful that I did that, I enjoyed every second of it.
The stuff was super nice and always tried their best to help you out.
For sure Halong Bay is super touristic, but I think that this fact is clear when you plan to go there.
In my personal opinion staying at Halong bay overnight is the only thing that worth it.
The trip was also well organized and there are a lot of activities, where you can participate, as a cooking class, kayaking…
The activities were all included in the price.
Before my trip Miss My Uyen helped me planning my stay and answered every question I had.
So all in all was it a great experience and I highly recommend it.
The stuff was super nice and always tried their best to help you out.
For sure Halong Bay is super touristic, but I think that this fact is clear when you plan to go there.
In my personal opinion staying at Halong bay overnight is the only thing that worth it.
The trip was also well organized and there are a lot of activities, where you can participate, as a cooking class, kayaking…
The activities were all included in the price.

Great room. That’s about it. service was sub par, no time to relax unless you skip a meal, but the meals were terrible, so we ate crackers in our room anyways.
I suggest finding a true 4/5 star : this is a facade - a 2 star at best for the Scarlet pearl.

Thank you very much for your feedback. We have many GOOD reviews and we dont have any feedback about food. If the food was not good, terrible, you can complain directly our cruise manager. There is no way to prepare the bad food except that we dont want to work again. Services are our main things to make Scarlet Pearl luxury and 5 star. We guarantee and make sure that all our guests will enjoy the cruise tour

It was our first trip to Hanoi and hence we did the customary Ha Long bay cruise 2D1N. Though pricey, the cruise did bring us to very scenic spots, it was also very fun kayaking with family in the lovely area and a small cave. Food was not bad with the local brunch buffet on the last day the best. Service was excellent throughout. Chris was chatty, funny and provided lovely insights into various things around the area. James and the rest of the staff very very attentive; our driver was late to pick us up after the cruise and they made special effort to reach out to our driver to check to make sure we were safely on the way back, even though it was a private driver. Worth a visit if it's the first time in Ha Long bay!
