La Regina Legend Cruise: We has done a cruise in Halong bay over 10 years ago. Those days it was mainly wooden cruise boats (called junks) with 5 to 10 small rooms in them and the voyage was limited to a smaller area in Halong and Batulong bays. This time we found the 'boats' are proper cruise ships with 2 to 3 floors of cabins - numbering anything from 10 to 30 ensuite rooms. The top floor is usually kept for the bar and open air lounges.
The Legend is one of the larger ships in the La Regina group. The cabins are quite big and the bathrooms are large with hot tub, showers etc etc.. Each cabin has a nice balcony to relax and watch the beautiful scenery unfolding around. The ship is very clean and well maintained. Beds are comfortable and the ambience very nice. Catering was top class. The topdeck bar is well tended and has reasonably priced cocktails (average US 8.00), premium spirits (Avg US 12.00) and happy hours to boot.
We booked the 2 nights 3 day cruise. Well managed by a very efficient and pleasant manager Mr. Duy. A special mention also to Mr. Gino - the butler assigned to our group. Day activities included Kayaking , cycling/ electric buggy to an island village and a hike uphill to a cave.

Enjoyed seeing the beauty of Halong Bay.
The staff was amazing and did whatever they could to make your experience enjoyable.
The food was fantastic with a great selection of Vietnamese and Western cuisine.
The nightly squid fishing was fun.

What a nice trip. We had a 3 days/2 nights trip, which is recommended as the day trip - which was the highlight - is only in that package. Andi on the day trip was amazing! Duy, Felix and the rest of crew were really sweet. Food wasn't amazing but presented really well.

Go with a different vendor as this was disappointing. King bed was two singles pushed together, actual cruise on ship very short, most of distance in smaller uncomfortable boat. No water or coffee served with meals. Windows old and stained to look through.

My boyfriend and I spent three wonderful days and two nights on La Regina cruise of Lan Ha and Ha Long Bay. We loved the cabins, the food, the excursions, and the staff. We highly recommend La Regina and definitely stay for a second night.
