Great experience, best view possible with constant work of John, he did a fantastic job. His wife Lynne prepared an amazing dinner.
The only thing was that the boat felt like it was at it‘s max capacity so 10 people less would be better so everyone can get a comfortable seat.

Hi Paul & Manuella,
Thanks for recognising the difficulty I had maintaining our position in the location where our guests would experience the BEST VIEW of the fireworks possible! The hull of Sydney Sundancer was about 2 metres from the edge of the exclusion zone. If I had crossed into the exclusion zone, a Maritime Official would have instructed me to move to a location with very much inferior views, so I had to manoeuvre all night !
On New Years Eve most charter boats selling tickets accept the maximum number of guests they are permitted to carry. Sydney Sundancer is licensed to carry in excess of 70 passengers + crew on Sydney Harbour but Lynne and I only sell 50 tickets so we can guarantee everyone’s personal comfort through adequate space. We had armchairs and seats for all guests and there was always empty chairs and adequate space for people to walk around the deck with ease.

It was a wonderful evening on the Sydney Harbor. We were a family of 5. 3 adult children. The old tall sail was fabulous. When they first approached to pick us up I was concerned about the seating, but there was plenty of room. The food was good, but if you don't eat meat, perhaps bring a snack. They did provide veggie items later in the evening. Hospitality was wonderful. Everyone was so kind. Bring a sweater because it can get cold. Definitely a fantastic way to see the fireworks and get to know people and have fun. There was a performer singing great hits from 70s and 80s and some dancing too. Highly recommend it.

I am glad you and your family had a great New Years' Eve however, you did not spend the evening aboard our yacht Sydney Sundancer !

John would have top be one of the most experienced skippers on Sydney Harbor.
He maneuvered Sydney Sundancer right at the start of the fireworks. Lynne put on an incredible spread of Oysters, Ham, turkey, salmon, salads and the Bollinger flowed freely all night

My husband and I agreed that 2019/2020 would be our year for a New Year’s Eve celebration in Sydney. We booked a cruise on the sailing yacht, Sydney Sundancer through Luxury Yacht Charter. Their website promised uninterrupted views of the world’s best fireworks with a restricted amount of people on their sailing yacht, the Sydney Sundancer. This is exactly what we were looking for! And it's exactly what they delivered. All of our contact with the owners, Lynne and John Boyce, were so pleasant, and they kept us updated by email until boarding time. This is a once in a lifetime experience. The food, the company and the fireworks were fantastic!

Highlight of 2019 was being on a boat in Sydney harbour on New Years Eve and watching the incredible fireworks display. Fabulous and definitely worth the long trip providing you see more of this great country..

Amazing experience. If you want to see the best views and avoid sitting on a hill all day waiting and don't want to be a bigger boat with what that brings, then this is it. Boat meanders across the harbour and moors in a great spot for the two firework displays. The food was amazing quality and the drinks flowed.
The weather let us down slightly with strong winds for while, but that happens. There wasn't massive guest interaction but that's nobody's fault and pot luck who is on your evening.

I agree the weather was less than perfect and that might have contributed to less interaction with other guests.
When you gave us only 4 stars was that because you were disappointed with the weather, I can't see anything we could have done better?

Ce réveillon a été superbe, le buffet était bien fourni et nos hôtes très accueillants. La météo sur la baie a été un peu venteuse, pensez à prendre une petite veste.

This was a fantastic evening under difficult circumstances. John and Lynne could not have done more to make us feel welcome. The view of the fireworks was second to none, even if we did have to put up a fight to keep our spot! Thanks to John and Lynne for doing this.
The wind was very strong and I was amazed how the staff just carried on regardless. The standard of food was really very good and there was no shortage of drink throughout the evening. A memorable evening !

This was a great way to see in a new decade. John, Lynne and their staff were gracious hosts and did everything to make the evening wonderfully special. Our position was perfect and this was definitely a New Year's Eve to remember.

Oh goodness, there do I start.
BOOKING
I had made travels to be in Sydney for New Years and I wanted go be on the harbour for the fireworks. Though, the easiest way is to book an evening like that with a large commercial company, being a solo traveller, I wanted the more warm, family and intimate ambiance.
I read the description, contacted Sydney Sundancer to confirm if it was OK for me to take photos with my large DSLR ”professional” camera during the event. Rather than providing me a one-word response (would have been sufficient anyhow), both Lynne and John were very gracious and nice and provided some tips on what will work and what will not.
DAY-OF
The check in process was smooth. What I was concern was the amount of guests that we're lined up to get on the vessel. Are we really going to all fit on there (yes, we did and lots of walking room).
When it was my turn to check in, John instantly remembered my name and correspondence. He greeted with smile and genuine enthusiasm which I really appreciated. The small moment made me felt like I was with family instantly.
Once everyone was on board, we quickly pushed off and on the harbour to make our way to his favorite spot: buoy no. 6 (I think it was). There we stayed. What was impressive and never seen any captain done before was driving the vessel with his foot. That was impressive.
Throughout the sailing and wait for the first set of fireworks, wine and spirits were consistently being refilled by crewmen/women. They were all laser focus on being sufficient at their job and in constant communication with the Captain (John). As graceful a they could, they handled the windy weather conditions very well.
FOOD
Please take heavy heavy note: Lynne prepared, cooked and baked all the provided (I could not get enough of the shrimp and avocado dip and lobster with macadamia sauce!)
Once after the first set (2100/2115) fireworks were done (which were very impressive), Lynne and all (deck) hands sprint towards getting dinner set-up.
Every course and sides were made for all diet restrictions (eg. dairy tolerant, gluten free, no pork). If I was correct, all guests came back for seconds (at least).
After the second set (and it was breathtaking) of fireworks was done, coffee and cakes was served! I have never been on a vessel the size of the Sydney Sundancer that provided as much as it did in terms of food! They were prepared for everything!
VERDICT
I would highly recommend you to book your NYE (or any other boating occasion) with Lynne and John. They were genuinely kind, helpful and they surround themselves a wonderful and efficient team to make sure everything (in their control) run smoothly.
