June took great care of the two of us! Was able to see several areas of Taipei and try the local fare. She was so sweet and knowledgeable.

Wow!! Garen was amazing!! We had a few hours of non-stop fun, she gave us so many tasty and special things to eat and drink. She told us a lot about Taiwan and the taiwanese people, and answered all the questions we had. Also, the tour was in such a beautiful neighborhood, which I don't think we would have seen without the tour. We totally recommend!

I loved the tour - we talked the politics, history religion and of course the food of Taiwan. June the guide was so interesting and great fun to be with. The food was all from local places - nothing gourmet, just hearty popular local food. You do have to pace yourself though!

Apologies for reviewing so long after doing the tour. It is a reflection of me not the tour (I have ADHD).
Garen was such a delightful tour guide. She was knowledgeable, engaging and super friendly. She made great choices on the tour to accomodate my friend who is vegetarian and still have meat options for me to try too. We loved how she incorporated history and culture (and shopping) into the tour so seemlessly.
Thoughout the tour it was clear she had a great relationship with her vendors who were all very welcoming to us.
Highlights included trying Aiyu jelly and the good local bubble tea advice for which chains to avoid. As well as the breakfast foods we'd never heard of but have now found in our hometown of Sydney!
We were also very lucky to have our tour the same day as the first day back to work after new year in Taiwan. We witnessed people setting off crackers and fireworks which she was able to explain the significance to us.
We would highly recommend Garen's tour to anyone travelling to Taipei.

The guide was very nice, polite and professional, however, the tour was overpriced for the type of food, I was expecting something more exotic or unique, I don’t believe a bun with sausage should be part of the tasting, so, it was helpful to have someone translating but not for that price.

I wanted to make sure I left a review for this tour , as it was exceptional! My sister, mother and I toured on June 28, while we were on a 7 hour layover at TPE to Houston, TX. June (our guide) was great, knowledgeable and super responsive. From the beginning with booking, the middle with finding the location, as well as throughout the tour, her communication was perfect! She's very energetic and knowledgeable and we could tell she loves what she does. The food was great, the information and fun facts and she fed us was impressive as well. You can definitely do the tour within the 7 hour layover. She tailored the tour to fit our preferences. I would definitely do it again when we return for an actual visit.
For others that book this tour on a layover, I'd recommend doing a couple of things: The tour is a good distance from the airport I want to say an hour with traffic. So have your docs filled out before you reach customs. Make sure you convert money ahead of time if you can. You will need NTD for the lockers as it doesn't take USD or US type electronic payments. But you will pass a money conversion desk on your way to the storage lockers. Go ahead and Uber, don't be adventurous lol. Bottom line... Do the tour, you'll enjoy it!!! You'll make it back in enough time for sure!

The tour with June was great! She told us lots of stories about local people and eating customs and preferences, took us through a wet market that had some produce we’d never seen before, and all along the way she was chatting to all the sellers because she was friends with everyone, which in turn made us feel welcome. We tasted heaps of local foods, and even had time to stop at a temple and learn about how Taiwanese people approach religion.

Garen gave us an amazing food tour in Taipei. We visited lots of delicious eateries (trying foods we never would’ve known about) and learn lots about Taiwanese culture and history. Garen was a fantastic guide - fun, knowledgeable and interesting. She also tailored it to our interests, tastes and experiences. Highly recommended!

Garen was an excellent tour guide, her English is excellent, she knows an amazing amount about the people, the food, the produce and she has a very friendly, bubbly personality. Couldn’t recommend this tour highly enough.
