From the outside, this hotel looks very dated and just a little on the dicey side. Inside, however, the rooms are clean, comfortable, well-maintained and reasonably priced. This is a downtown hotel, so you should expect all the usual downtown noises. We did have a couple of issues. 1. We had to get an early start the next day, so when we arrived, we confirmed with the front desk that breakfast began at 6am. That's what the sign on the front desk said, and that's what the front desk clerk confirmed for us. However, the next morning, when we arrived at 6am for breakfast, a different front desk clerk told us breakfast wouldn't be available for another hour. Why? Because daylight savings time wasn't yet being recognized in Mexico, where it was still just 5am. But we were in California! We had to get going regardless, so this meant we missed the breakfast that was supposed to be included in our room rate and had to pay for breakfast elsewhere. 2. The TV in our room provided cable channels, but none of the major networks. Certainly not a huge deal, but there was a program we were expecting to be able to watch, and were unable to do so. On the upside, staff was kind enough to allow us to leave our car in the enclosed hotel parking lot all day, even though we wouldn't be staying at the hotel a second night. So, all in all, a reasonable deal for decent accommodations super close to the border. A few glitches, but still a good value for what you get.…
