The trail provides an awesome way to stretch the legs and take in some breathtaking views. Running, hiking, or just walking will take you to some beautiful lookouts and its a nice way to get away!

Definitely worthwhile hike if you're in the North sound. We started off at the end of Bitter End (past the kiteboarding area and up the paved drive) and just kept going up until we came to sign that said Biras Creek Closed on the left side. We took that closed trail. Followed that until we came to the beach and kept right until we came to the old beach bar and followed the road until it ended at Fat Virgin. Definitely a little overgrown and I'd suggest water but beautiful views! Maybe an hour or so fro Bitter End to Fat Virgin.

So, would you like to experience jungle in BVI? Ever want to play Tarzan or Jane? Did you pack your machete on the airplane? Maybe you'd like the trail ! Last we heard, the Biras Creek Resort was closed indefinitely, but if you're into hiking, give the walk a try. You leave BEYC down by the pool and walk along the shoreline to Biras. It's a narrow path, and you have to be careful where you step; rocks, roots, branches, you never know what you'll find. At high tide, you might have to jump over some puddles. Wear mosquito repellant and bring a bottle of water. Expect to take about 30 minutes to walk all the way to the Biras main building, or once you get to Biras, take a left turn and visit their beach (about another 8-10 minutes walking). If you're not quite so adventurous you might want to pick up a small Boston Whaler at the BEYC Sports Desk and motor over to the pier at Biras - it's a great short trip.

Wow, these trails were fantastic. Each trail was definitely something different so if you have the time, I recommend checking out as many as you can. The views are phenomenal. The wildlife is beautiful. The mosquitoes on certain trails can be insane... Bring bug spray because the trek is worth it. Some trails can be straight up climbing.

The hike is not hard and doesn't take long either. You could probably spend more time enjoying the views/scenery than getting up there. Ill let the pics do the talking!

This is a nice easy hiking trail with good views. It is a relatively short hike, with some easy uphill and downhill hiking. The longest option was only about 45 minutes, but has good views of the area from it's high lookout point.

We did this trail which is up hill so bring water. Views are far better than what you will see in Gorda Peak. Although it is a loop, at the very top the trail appears to end so we ended up turning around. It is an awesome experience if you are use to hiking and not a hoity toity yacht person........

If you are not staying at Biras Creek Resort you can access the Biras Creek Ferry at Gun Creek. The ferries are free. The ferry schedule and trail maps are on their website www.biras.com under:
Location tab: Show the ferry schedule
Adventures/Land tab: on the right is the hiking trail map or stop at the front desk for a map.
The Alvin's Height/Lovers Leap Trail has a fantastic view of North Sound & Deep Bay. It is up hill so hike early and take water as it can get hot. There is a small bench at the top, take a moment to enjoy the serene beauty! Once we completed the trail we were talking with one of the staff and learned that the trail was actually named after a gardener that worked around the resort building the stone walls and cleared & built the trails by hand.
We ventured back a second day and did the Orchid Trail which is just under a mile and finishes at the beach. This trail has a bit more shade but water is still in order. If you want to continue on across the beach you can pick up the dirt road/trail and circle the north end and get a beautiful view of Oil Nut Bay Resort and it's villas.
We had lunch at the Biras Creek ferry dock at the Fat Virgin Restaurant for a great burger and watched the yacht's and sail boats. The second day we called Saba Rock Restaurant and they came and picked us up in their boat for another very enjoyable lunch, a unique lunch on a huge rock.
